Jennifer Lonergan – a social entrepreneur; founder and executive director of the Montreal-based nonprofit Artistri Sud, which works to empower women in the developing world through entrepreneurship training. She has been travelling to different developing countries to find ways to support women who suffer from poverty and marginalization. Her famous speech at TEDxMontrealWomen was inspiring and deeply personal, getting to the core of women helping women touched thousands of people in the world.
Nguyễn Huyền Châu – Founder of Schools for Kids Vietnam and Coordinator of Action for Lung Tam.
She was the first Vietnamese under 30-year-old to participate in WEF Annual Meeting 2014 in Davos, Switzerland. Chau is currently a member of the Global Shapers community of the World Economic Forum (WEF), is a collaborator of Thanh Nien Online newspaper. Her TEDx talk “Enabling is better than giving” made a positive impact when it showed the importance of giving.
Tu Thu Hien – Founder and CEO, WISE – Women’s Initiative for Startups and Entrepreneurship Country Manager, Mekong Business Initiative. Tu Thu Hien is the Founder and CEO of the Women’s Initiative for Startups and Entrepreneurship (WISE), which launched in March 2017. She is also the Country Manager for Vietnam of the Mekong Business Initiative (MBI), a program jointly funded by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Australia. In her role as MBI Country Manager, Hien advocated for the private sector during the development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Support Law in Vietnam, resulting in two articles included in the law that support women directly. She leads the development of WISE’s program portfolio to support female-led startups in Vietnam. With the support of the American Embassy in Vietnam to WISE, Hien launched a program on training female lecturers on innovation and entrepreneurship in Vietnam in 2017 and conducted an acceleration bootcamp for women-led startups under the WISE Women Innovation Challenge in the Mekong region in 2018.
