Joanne Katz, J.D., Professor Emerita, was a Professor of Legal Studies in the Department of Criminal Justice, Legal Studies & Social Work at Missouri Western State University for 26 years. Katz has dedicated her professional life to issues related to Equal Protection of the Law, Criminal Justice Reform and Collaborative Problem-Solving as the basis of the legal system. Katz has traveled in a professional capacity, including representing the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences at the UN Conference on Criminal Justice in Bahia, Brazil; traveling through India as a guest university lecturer; and living as a Fulbright Scholar in Hanoi, Vietnam. A third generation Feminist, Katz has written and lectured on Women’s Rights, and is dedicated to supporting self-determination for women in all parts of the world.
